The Inexplicable Equation
Discover how this equation of 0+X=A provides every person a pathway of movement forward, hope, and a future beyond the grave.
Using a stick, the teacher began drawing letters and symbols in the sand, first a 0, then a plus sign, then an X, then an equal sign, and then the letter A. 0+X=A. “It’s an equation,” he said. “The zero will stand for a life and a movement brought to nothingness, that of the Jewish Rabbi Yahusha. His followers had believed that their leader was the Messiah. But it all came to a traumatic end with His public execution on the cross.
They were demoralized, traumatized, in mourning, broken, and fearing for their lives. If ever a movement was crushed, it was this one. But then something happened. The crushed and broken followers of the crucified Rabbi were transformed into the most confident, unbowed, unafraid, and overcoming people the world has ever witnessed. Their despair was replaced by hope and their mourning by an unconquerable joy. Their fear of persecution entirely vanished, as did their fear of death. They became unstoppable, and they changed the course of world history.”
He pointed to the A and continued, “The A represents all that took place after that transformation, an Alpha, for the new beginning. So what happened? How do you go from 0 to A, from death and total crushing devastation to the overcoming of the world? From mourning to joy? 0 is death. And the power of X must be greater than the power of 0. So the power of X must be greater than death. And as 0 was a real and historical event, so X must be an equally real and historical event. It is X that turns mourning into joy and nullifies the fear of death. And it is X that is the overcoming of 0. So X must equal nothing less than the overcoming of death. So what is X?”
“The resurrection,” I said.
“Yes, X can only equal the resurrection. For only the resurrection could bring them from 0 to A, from death and from the tomb to the new beginning so powerful it changes the history of the world. There can be only one answer. X equals the empty tomb, the risen Messiah. And if you’re in Messiah, then you have the same equation over your life, and the same power, the power to turn the end into the beginning, death into life, despair into hope, and mourning into joy. So when you find yourself broken and at your end, it will be that power by which you rise up…and overcome the world. It is that power alone that explains the equation of your life and that will bring about the equation of your victory –the power of X.” Acts 4:7-33; Romans 8:10-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 1 John 1:1-4. “Book of Mysteries,” by Jonathan Cahn.
[Disclaimer: Please note that “The Book of Mysteries” is Jonathan Cahn’s notes from the lessons he received while spending a year under the tutelage of “The Teacher” in Yasharal (Israel). I have found many of these to be worthy to share and will make additional comments on them as needed. Those teachings not supported by Scripture that don’t meet the mark on any level are not shared or posted. We are not followers of Jonathan Cahn as there are many beliefs we don’t hold in common. However, these are shared that you too may be barakah (blessed) by the wisdom of “The Teacher.”]
Born of Love
Love is the foundation of every TRUTH RESTORED. A thriving RELATIONSHIP with Yahuah Alahim and His Son is made apparent by walking in the light of truth born of the 0+X=A equation. “For Yahuah Alahim so loved the world (you and me) that He gave His only begotten Son (Yahusha haMashiach), that whosoever believes (loves, trusts, honors, and obeys) in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
I often get comments from folks that none of this restoration of truth, such as full New Moon Days, lunar Sabbaths, and lunar appointed Feast Days, is important to our salvation but that we all need a loving relationship with the Messiah. Yet, if we are restoring TRUTH, isn’t the author of it our Creator and Messiah? Isn’t knowing the truth going to bring us closer to this magnificent Father and Son duo, the author, who has accomplished everything they could to restore us to a perfect relationship with them? It was the Law that was broken. Thus, the Law must be restored and ultimately written in the hearts of His loving and obedient followers. Isn’t the Torah Law written on our hearts born of LOVE?
Is it possible that those who think all they need is to believe and have a relationship with the Messiah are mistaken? Might they not be fully aware of how far they and the rest of humankind have fallen? Our Messiah said, “If you love me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15. Is this not a perfect explanation of how to show our love for Him? Our obedience illustrates our love.
And interestingly enough, the Ten Commandments are not all the “commands” that are being referred to. “…Keep ALL His commands that you heard from the beginning that you should walk in them….” John 1:6. What are all the commands?
“And keep the charge of Yahuah your Alahim/Elohim, to walk in His ways, to keep 1) His statutes, and 2) His commandments, and 3) His judgments, and 4) His testimonies, as it is written in the TORAH LAW of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and whithersoever you turn yourself.” 1 Kings 2:3
Our Messiah’s Bible
The Old Testament was the only Bible, our Messiah, read and taught from while on this earth. The first five books of the Old Testament are called the Torah Law. They are the instructions for all the faithful people of Yasharal (Israel) to the end of time, including those of us who are grafted in. This is where we discover the entire Plan of Salvation made manifest and placed in their order on His lunar appointed Feast Days. Is that not love? This Torah Law is so essential that our Messiah had to die to fulfill and ratify it. Is that not love?
“But when the fullness of the time came, Yahuah Alahim sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the Torah Law, to redeem them that were under the Torah Law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, Yahuah Alahim has sent forth the Ruach (presence) of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of Yahuah Alahim through Yahusha haMashiach.” Galatians 4:4
“Whosoever transgresses [sins by breaking TORAH], and abides not in the TORAH LAW of Messiah, has not Alahim [the Father]. He that abides in the TORAH LAW of Messiah, he has both the Father and the Son.” 2 John 1:9
Can Grace Stand Alone?
Many church leaders and assemblies have taught for hundreds of years that we are no longer under the Law but are now under Grace. Yet, Grace cannot exist outside the presence of the Law. In this erroneous teaching, these church leaders undermine LOVE’s mechanism for mankind’s restoration. Law and Grace are forever bound together in our Messiah, who desires that we follow in His footsteps. This is a path the worldly and unconfessing sinners will never follow. The shocking truth is that our obedience to His Laws exhibits our LOVE for our Eternal Father and His Son, a return to His teachings, commandments, statutes, judgments, and testimonies. This is the covenant relationship. We illustrate we don’t even know Him when we refuse to honor what is important to Him.
Living under the 0+X=A equation anticipates our faithfulness to follow Him according to all His Word, including not picking and choosing whole principles and portions of Scripture. The Prophet Isaiah put it this way:
“To the Torah Law and to the Testimony if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light [truth] in them.” Isaiah 8:20
At the very end of time, this two-part principle is repeated. It illustrates the contrast regarding the few who will receive the full protection of the Seal of Yahuah and are, therefore, not touched by the Mark of the Beast.
“Here is the shalom (peace) of the RIGHTEOUS (zadok), here are they who keep the TORAH LAW and have the TESTIMONY of YAHUSHA haMashiach (the Messiah). Revelation 14:12
Who knew that this tidy little two-part principle is the foundation of TRUTH? Getting this right is a sign that we are His and in a covenant agreement.
“Moreover the Torah Law was given that our sins would be made plain. But where sin is made plain, grace is much more available: Just as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Yahusha haMashiach our master.” Romans 5:20-21
His Equation Becomes Ours
Thus the equation of 0+X=A in our lives is only possible because of His love and our trusting obedience: 1) Because we transgressed the Torah Law, we deserve death, represented by the 0, which has now been paid in full by the death of Yahusha our Messiah; 2) Our Messiah’s resurrection to New Life becomes our resurrection and the promise of a future, as we confess our sins, made manifest by the Torah Law, and walk in His path, represented by the X. 3) By this principle, we can therefore be restored beyond what we could otherwise think or hope. His death & resurrection, together with our choice to follow His example, has made ETERNAL LIFE and SALVATION POSSIBLE, represented by the A.
We are certainly nearing the end of time. Now is the time to update our out-of-date paradigms by seeking the pathway of our Messiah that is founded upon the two principles of Torah Law and Grace, which is born of HIS ETERNAL LOVE.
