The Nephilim
and the Daughters of Men

Genesis 6:1-6

There has been much discussion of late about the Nephilim and the daughters of men in the pre-flood era.  Therefore the questions remain:  Did Angels mate with the women of the earth? Did they produce offspring who were giants? Did the Creator really allow fallen angels, alien men from other planets, or demons to infiltrate planet earth to impregnate the daughters of men? Did this unholy alliance create superhuman/alien life forms (giants) called the Nephilim? Was it this union that proliferated the first giants on the earth, or might giants have already existed? Are the sons of Alahim/Elohim (God) one and the same as the Nephilim? Discover that it is the Scriptures in the original Hebrew text that identify who the Nephilim were, as contrasted with the sons of Alahim (God) and the connection to the daughters of men. 

This article will attempt to answer these age-old questions from the perspective of Scripture and not from the Book of Enoch. According to Genesis 6:1-6, these events brought on the second all-encompassing punishment of sinful mankind, second only to Adam and Eve’s sin and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. That pivotal event had eternal repercussions requiring extravagant measures and is now referred to as Plan B. This is when the promise of a REDEEMER, known as the Plan of Salvation, went into effect. It was designed to restore all those willing back to the Father.  But with this second fall, a great flood converged upon the entire earth, the necessary work of a loving Alahim (God) designed to wipe the slate clean from the filth and distortions created by the wicked antediluvian pre-flood civilization, who were hell-bent on rebellion to their Creator. 

There is tremendous evidence that this ancient Scriptural narrative actually occurred upon earth approximately 2,120 B.C. and is here recorded by Moses in the Torah. We also know the flood story is TRUE because Noah’s Ark has been found in Turkey. Today, Noah’s Ark is located 6,000 feet above sea level, within the circumference of the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4), hundreds of miles from any large body of water. It measures 300 Royal Egyptian cubits in length, the span of two football fields (Genesis 6:15). The Ark, designed by Yahuah Alahim and built by Noah and his three sons over a 120-year period, has been preserved to this day as a testimony that the storyline of the pre-flood era is nothing short of accurate. Who were the Nephilim?

Beginning with Genesis 6:4, who were the Nephilim?  Does the term Nephilim refer unequivocally to giants?

“Nephilim were in the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” Genesis 6:4

According to Genesis 6:4, the (Nephilim – #5303 = a feller (someone who falls trees); a bully or tyrant; a giant) is a plural term referring to many.  It comes from the singular root word (nephal – #5307 = to fall; cast down; cease; die; fail; fall away; be judged; be lost; perish; throw down). Notice that the term “giant” does not appear in the singular form of this word. This makes it difficult, at best, to claim that Nephilim means giants. Thus it appears the translation is lacking.  So, we will get something more like this by taking the Hebrew words and applying their original meaning. 

“Fallen tyrants and bullies were in the earth in those days and also after that. Therefore, when the sons of Alahim (God) came in unto the daughters of [defiled] mankind, and they bare children to them, these [fallen] mighty men were previously men of the name, of honor.” Genesis 6:4

Therefore, these Nephilim, fallen tyrants and bullies who had previously been sons of Alahim, mighty men of renown, had fallen from grace.  They lost their way with Yahuah Alahim because they defiled themselves with lust for the daughters of men and are now referred to as the nephal (singular) and Nephilim (plural).  This term appears to point to their rebellious and fallen character rather than their stature.  

Who are the Daughters of Men?

It came to pass, as defiled and polluted mankind multiplied by the myriad upon the face of the earth, daughters were born accordingly. Genesis 6:1

Verse 1 opens with a direct and foundational statement identifying the daughters of men as a defined group of people. These daughters of “defiled and polluted mankind,” both men and women, multiplied in great numbers, and daughters were born to them who continued to carry the rebellious DNA.  Meaning the daughters were cut from the same cloth or mold as their heathen, unconverted, and rebellious-hearted parents. While this verse focuses on the daughters of men, this is a related term to the sons of men.  Scripture has a lot to say regarding the sons of men. Generally, this term referred to sinners and the rebellious-hearted, as illustrated in the following verse. The sons of Alahim are contrasted to the sons (and daughters) of men.

I will be his Father, and he shall be My son [son of Alahim]. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 2 Samuel 7:14

This is not clear at first glance in verse 1 of Genesis 6 because in all the English translations of the Bible, the Hebrew word for defiled or polluted has been replaced with the word “began.” This modification is pivotal to hiding the real fallen nature of these corrupt men and women.  It gives rise to perpetuating the Enochonian theory often proclaimed among uneducated believers that either aliens or Satan’s fallen messengers (angels) mated with earth women creating a giant race of demonic mankind.

Who were the Sons of Alahim as defined in Scripture?

Then beheld the sons of Alahim, [the Aleph and Tav], these daughters of [defiled] mankind, for they were beautiful. They then took accordingly wives, as many as whom they selected. Genesis 6:2

Verse 2 begins by identifying the second select group of people as the obedient sons of Alahim, who were most likely of the lineage of Seth, the third son of Adam.  This is evidenced by the fact that only Noah and his immediate family were saved among all of Seth’s lineage living at the time of the flood.  Because by the time the flood arrived, there were no others of that noble line [the order of Melchizedek] that had remained obedient to the ways of Alahim. This verse reveals the events that occurred, causing countless sons of Alahim to fall from honor, preventing them and their offspring from being saved, along with Noah and his family on the ark.

According to Norbert Link of Standing Watch Ministry, Halley’s Bible Handbook allows that the sons of Alahim (God), referred to in Genesis 6, were likely the leaders of Seth’s family who fell from grace when they intermarried with the lineage of rebellious descendants of Cain. The table below illustrates that out of twelve Scripture verses referring to the Sons of Alahim, nine refer specifically to the obedient men of the earth, and the other three denote the obedient angels of heaven. Both groups were obedient.

Not even one of the Scripture verses alludes to the rebellious fallen messenger’s angels (demons or aliens) with the exclusive title of the sons of Alahim. The mere fact they are fallen angels puts them in a category of rebellious and defiled and can, therefore, no longer come under the title sons of Alahim.  By extension, even if it is doubted that these two verses in Genesis refer to the obedient men of the earth, the only other option that identifies the sons of Alahim is the obedient angels of heaven. In either case, the one thing the sons of Alahim cannot be is the rebellious fallen angels (demons or aliens).  

The verses listed in the table above vividly describe who the Sons of Alahim were prior to their fall and the flood. Strikingly, the same definition applies to both the sons and the daughters of Alahim following the receding floodwaters, even to our very day.  Those who perpetuate the belief that angels of any kind, fallen or unfallen, mated with women of earth, neglect to share the following verses:

1. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of Alahim (God), even to them that believe on His name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Alohim (God). John 1:12
2. That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of Alahim, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Philippians 2:15
3. The son of Noah…the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of Alahim (God). Luke 3:36-38
4. Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of Alahim (God): therefore the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.  1 John 3:1
5. For as many are led by the Ruach (spirit), these are the sons of Alahim (God). Romans 8:14

By their very nature, the sons of Alahim are the righteous men and divine angels who have remained steadfast or overcome evil with good (Rev. 21:7), who are called by Yahuah’s name, who live for His honor, and “who walk not after the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life.”  In contrast, all the defiled and unrepentant of mankind have followed the path of Cain and perished in rebellion (Jude 1:11), just as Satan and his defiled angels have and will receive their reward of eternal destruction.

Can angels procreate?

According to the weight of evidence in Scripture, all the angels were created as messenger beings with a categorical and preordained role according to the bidding of Yahuah Alahim and were NOT created for mating, marrying, and having families. Any notion otherwise is the product of science fiction propaganda. 

To further support this principle, when Alahim (God) created animals and humans upon earth, He created them according to their kind (Genesis 1:21).  Two dogs can only produce dogs.  They cannot produce birds or fish.  Likewise, mankind can only produce humans and not animals. The Scriptures tell us in (Psalms 8:5) that mankind and angels belong to a different kind, making it impossible for them to procreate together. Additionally, angels are created beings who were not given the ability to bear children by any means (Matthew 22:30). 

These verses alone show that mankind was created as a lower order than the angels and not of the same kind.  The interactive role of the divine messengers (angels) with man is that of watchful care over us.  They, along with the full light of the sun, moon, and stars, are perpetually given over to honor and praise the Most High, Yahuah Alahim.  The divine messengers (angels) will be with the Messiah at His return to earth at the Second Coming. 

The righteous divine messengers (angels) have a work in the judgment to separate the wicked from the just and cast them into the lake of fire at the end of the age, as Hell is not burning today. In addition to the fact that man and divine messengers (angels) are of a different kind, angels were not created to marry or procreate. Thus, they do not have the ability to mate with each other, nor with mankind or animals.

So where does this belief come from that angels had sex with women of the earth?

It comes from the Book of Enoch and other fables (Titus 1:14) that have no place in the sacred Scriptures. The Book of Enoch was not written by Enoch, the righteous man and seventh from Adam, but rather, it was gathered from several sources between the 3^rd century B.C and the 1^st century A.D.  It appears to be a collection of the works of multiple authors and conflicts with itself and Scripture in too many places to list. For this reason, the righteous Kohenim did not canonize it in the 1^st century B.C. with the other 66 books of Scripture. The Book of Enoch is an acknowledged manuscript, yet, we believe, an altogether uninspired demonic novel, as it is a mixture of truth with error.

Is it a sin to become unequally yoked in mixed religious marriages?

There is no sin in looking upon a beautiful woman. The sin is in immorally lusting after her. The beauty of these rebellious women of the pre-flood era and their beguiling ways were NO match for the once righteous and obedient sons of the Yahuah Alahim. However, these would be righteous sons opened the door of their minds to being seduced by these women. They allowed temptation to succeed, and only by their willful permission did these enticing women overtake them. Thus, these beautiful women caused the sons of Alahim (God) to forget their calling and election to preserve His NAME (Yahuah Alahim) in all the earth until the third and fourth generations.

Verse 2 further tells us that these sons of Alahim beheld the daughters of defiled men and took them as wives, just as did Samson many years later, which also singly caused his demise.  1) So it was that the sin of these formerly obedient sons of the Most High Alahim was that they chose to be unequally yoked together with these unbelieving women who had rebellious hearts toward the things of Yahuah, Alahim. 2)  Not only did they marry these beautiful women, but they took for themselves wives of as many as they selected, fully engaging in polygamous mixed-religious marriages on a grand scale.

A wife is bound by [Torah] law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in Yahuah. 1 Corinthians 7:39

The key phrase above is “only in Yahuah.” Mixed religious marriages are strictly forbidden in Scripture, which includes multiple wives mixed marriages.

When did Polygamy get its foothold?

According to Genesis 4:19, it appears that Lamech, the great-grandson of Cain, was the first man to engage in marriage with plural wives.  Lamech was also the second recorded murderer in Scripture, second only to Cain.  The lineage of Cain became synonymous with the rebellion against the Most High Yahuah Alahim. Cain’s lineage ended at the flood’s deluge because none of his offspring had hearts of loving obedience and trust in their Most High Father. As a result, they did not heed Noah’s warning and entered the safety of the ark. 

While Scripture records that Samuel’s father had two wives (1 Samuel 1:2), King David had many wives and concubines (2 Samuel 5:13), and Solomon had very many wives and concubines (1 Kings 11:3), yet this was not the preferred and declared standard of Yahuah Alahim. Having plural wives created problems, and again, in the case of King Solomon, the unbelieving wives turned his heart away from the Most High Alahim, not to mention all their children.

In the pre-flood era, these former sons of Alahim having plural wives of the daughters of defiled and rebellious mankind ensured that they would utterly destroy the legacy of the righteous bloodline of Seth, as the noble lineage would cease to exist.  This was the sole reason for the flood, as Yahuah Alahim must preserve the righteous seed for which the Messiah would come. 

The fact that only Noah and seven of his family were preserved in the ark illustrates the long-suffering and mercy extended to mankind in those days. Thus, at the last possible moment, the flood was brought upon the world to purify and strengthen the bloodline to ensure the fulfillment of the promised seed of the Messiah, who was yet to come.

What was to be the consequence of the unrighteous alliance of mixed religious marriages?

Then declared Yahuah, Alahim, “My Ruach (presence) shall not always govern mankind for he goes astray as he is flesh; his days are set forth as one hundred and twenty (years or revolutions of time).” Genesis 6:3

Yahuah declared in verse 3 that His Ruach (promise, power, and presence) and His government would not always strive or plead with the men of flesh as in the sons and daughters of men. Without the Ruach of Yahuah, they amount to nothing more than mere animals, who from dust they come and to dust they return. These do not overcome evil nor praise and worship the Most High, Yahuah Alahim.

While all the righteous followers will be raised to eternal life in the first resurrection (Revelation 20:5-6), the rebellious and unrepentant sinners are reserved unto the second resurrection and the eternal damnation and death that follows (Revelation 20:6). For their thoughts will perish with them.  Hell fire does not preserve anyone alive but rather burns them up to extinction along with Satan and his demonic angels. We serve an Alahim (God) who has no interest in persecution but only in eradicating once and for all His universe of evil.

Concerning the condition of the sons of men, Alahim tests them that they may see that they themselves are like animals. Ecclesiastes 3:18

All those who believe and teach that either demonic or divine messengers (angels) mated with women of the earth will never understand the incurable condition of or magnitude of sin. The real problem condemned in Genesis 6 is the polygamist mixed religious marriages of believers with unbelievers, which magnified a desperately wicked state. As long as this pivotal and paramount problem is not fully comprehended, it is subject to being repeated to the satisfaction of the enemy of souls.

Can unconverted heathen mothers raise righteous children?

From the earliest moments of conception, the mother has the greatest influence over the child’s character. It is primarily on her lap that children are taught to trust and obey Yahuah Alahim or not. Together, these unconverted women, with their husbands, who have willfully fallen from grace, began to bear and raise sons and daughters. These offspring were in a far more degenerated moral state than their parents or grandparents before them.

When the sons of Alahim fell victim to the egregious sin of marrying rebellious and unrepentant women, they invited the principalities and powers of the enemy to have dominion over them and their children unto the third and fourth generations.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against otherworldly wickedness in high places.  Ephesians 6:12

The FACT remains that the unconverted and rebellious-hearted are incapable of raising sons or daughters who love and worship Yahuah Alahim in His Ruach. Thus, it is that these fallen sons of Alahim sold themselves and their children of flesh into the slavery of sin and death, never to recover, as they remained unrepentant.

Who Experienced the Consequences?

This epic and crucial story, depicted in Genesis 6, showcases the fall from grace of these sons of Alahim in Noah’s days. It recounts both their sin and its tragic result, which caused Yahuah to destroy mankind and the earth with a flood. Depicted in Genesis 7 is the detailed account of who was punished and died in the flood. Note that not one angel, demon, or alien is mentioned, but only mankind and animals, who dwelt on dry land, as well as the birds.  

And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.  All in whose nostrils was the breath of the Ruach of life, all that was on the dry land, died.  So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground:  Both man and cattle, creeping things and bird of the air.  They were destroyed from the earth.  Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.  Genesis 7:21

Remember, the fallen demonic messengers were never referred to as sons of Alahim. If demons or aliens had been involved in this evil plot, we can be assured that this record would have declared their punishment along with mankind. But alas, NOT A WORD IS SAID.

One Hundred and Twenty Years  

“His days are set forth as one hundred and twenty years.” Genesis 6:3

This prophetic time application provides additional evidence that this story has no connection whatever to Yahuah’s divine messengers or fallen demons.  This is because “his days” refers to sinful flesh alone, whose days are numbered by 120 years. This is a deadline for the impending punishment of only earthlings who were to be overcome by floodwaters.  This was allotted for sinful and unrepentant mankind, otherwise referred to in Scripture as the sons of men upon the face of the earth, as it did not affect angelic messengers of shamayim (heaven), who are not subject to floodwaters. It also does not refer to the fallen angels, as Scripture defines that they do not come to their end until 1,000 years after the Messiah’s return.  During these 1,000 years, Satan and his fallen angels are described as being cast into the pit in chains of darkness, knowing that their end is near. 

Some declare that 120 years was the new lifespan allotted to mankind from that time forward.  Yet, this table illustrates that Noah lived several hundred more years following the flood, as did his son Shem. Arphaxad was born after the flood and lived for 430 years.  From there, the lifespans of both the righteous and the unrighteous dwindled slowly over the years, even decreasing below the 120-year mark to where mankind’s average lifespan today is around 80 years. So, based upon this example alone, these 120 years and/or revolutions could not have applied to the lifespans of mankind from that time until today.

Traditionally, it has been taught among Scripture scholars that 120 full years was to be the prophetic probationary time for sinful flesh on earth from the time that Eternal Father, Yahuah Alahim, gave the command to build the Ark until the rains came and the flood covered all the earth. This appears to be true and a fulfilled prophecy in part.

So it seems that Noah preached to the antediluvian world about the impending flood for precisely 120 years. This appears to carry weight because the 120 years came to an end at a specific time, and all sinful flesh was devoured in the rising floodwaters except the obedient righteous eight, the saved crew, and the animals of the S.S. ARK. 

Might there be a second application of the 120 revolutions of time?

“His days are set forth as one hundred and twenty years [and/or revolutions of time]. Genesis 6:3

Yes! It is my belief that this interval of 120 years may parallel a much longer prophetic fulfillment. In addition to the end of civilization in Noah’s day, this appears to mark the end of the earth as we know it for all mankind at the RETURN and Second Coming of the long-promised Messiah. So the question is, is it possible that Yahuah Alahim gave the 120 revolutions of time prophecy to fitly apply to two prophetic time periods simultaneously? 

First, as mentioned above, it was to apply to 120 yearly revolutions as the final probationary period for the sons of men prior to the flood. 

But secondly, and most profoundly for those of us living today, it appears to aptly apply to the 120 Jubilee revolutions. Consider that each Jubilee is one revolution of 50 years in length. So 120 Jubilee revolutions X 50 years = 6,000 years total allotted for mankind upon the earth from creation to the Second Coming. This also fits the format of a week of seven thousand years—six thousand allotted for our time on earth with the seventh one-thousand-year Sabbath in heaven. 

Note that the Hebrew word “shanah” often refers to years as a revolution of time but can also refer simultaneously to any revolutions of time, including revolutions of Jubilees. Both are types of revolutions. The prophetic probationary period for Noah’s contemporaries ended right on time after 120 years when the rains came, and the flood destroyed the known earth. But the provisional ark safely protected the obedient Noah and His family.

This fact assures us that the prophetic probationary period from Genesis to the Second Coming of the Messiah will also end right on time, at the completion of the 120 Jubilees of 50 years, the sum measurement of 6,000 years. Just as the ark provided safety for the faithful of Noah’s day, His restored Torah Law and Testimony (Isaiah 8:20), with the lunar calendar, New Moons, lunar Sabbaths, and lunar appointed Feast Days, will provide safety during the end times for all who seek to follow YAHUAH Alahim and YAHUSHA haMashiach, the LAMB, whethersoever He goes.  

This may be the most relevant revelation to come out of this entire storyline. For at the very time judgment was pending on the fallen sons of men of the antediluvian world (pre-flood mankind), marvelous assurance was betrothed in the details of the same probationary promise. It was specific to all those seeking the Righteousness of Yahuah Alahim, including Noah and his family, along with all those who came after the great cataclysmic flood. Now that this is coming to light, it is a second witness to the many chronologers who have tirelessly studied to ascertain the age of the earth and mankind’s allotted time before the final judgment.

Over the last 500 years, men like Bishop James Ussher, John Lightfoot, Jose Ben Halafta, Scaliger, Johannes Kepler, and Sir Isaac Newton have all been partial to the predominant belief that the earth’s probable probationary duration from creation to the end of time at the Second Coming was to be 6,000 years. This view even remains popular among Biblical Scholars and Chronologists today. 

It was even taught in the 2^nd – 4^th century A.D. that a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day. Thus, a week of six days of a thousand years each would end with a Sabbath period of one thousand years in the safety of the heavenly home. Scripture supports this view. 

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in Yahuah Alahim, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”  John 14:1-3

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with Yahuah, as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  2 Peter 3:8

Where are we in the 6,000-year Countdown?

This website currently believes that the Messiah laid down His life for mankind in the year A.D. 31 (or A.D. 30-34).  Many chronologers place that year at the 4,000-year marker following creation. Today, in 2024, there are only eight years left until we reach 2031, the end of the 6,000 years allotted for mankind. So, in the 6,000-year scheme of things, it appears we are currently in the prophetic year of 5,993. 

Things sure seem to be wrapping up in this old world as Satan summons his demons for his final battle to set up His New World Order. 

Were the Nephilim the offspring of these marriages?

Tyrannical giants (Nephilim) were in the land in those days and also afterwards, therefore, when the Sons of Alahim came into the daughters of [defiled] mankind, they bore children accordingly like the tyrannical giants (gibbor), who perpetuated an incurable and desperately wicked legacy.  Genesis 6:4

Verse 4 declares that when these mixed marriages occurred, there were currently Nephilim (#5303) on the earth already and afterward as well.  Then, it goes on to describe that these mixed marriages “begat accordingly the same tyrants.” So, it appears that these mixed marriages also produced Nephilim.

Please note that the word “tyrants” in this last phrase comes from a different Hebrew word (#1368 gibbor) in contrast to (#5303 Nephilim).  It seems reasonable that Yahuah, knowing the end from the beginning, had foreknowledge that Satan would cunningly inspire mankind to believe that the Nephilim were divine messengers (angels of heaven), demons, or alien life forms who mated with mankind, creating offspring that were superhuman giants. But it is fitting to have an additional Hebrew word clarify with precision that the meaning of “Nephilim” is another term for “tyrannical, cruel, and unforgiving giant bullies.”

Were there giants living during this pre-flood period?

Yes, of course. It appears that many humans and animals during that time were giants, especially as they compare to our size today.  This article does not deny that giants existed before the flood.  In fact, Scripture identifies that there continued to be giants in the land during the time of Moses and David.  But, it may be that size had nothing whatever to do with being good or evil, obedient or rebellious, righteous or unrighteous. Rather, all things created in their pure and perfect state were much larger at their commencement, having dwindled down to the size they are today. 

On the other hand, those referred to as giants may have been the result of their scientific experiments to increase the size of mankind.  But this entire chapter is really about identifying what went wrong in the early days of Noah that caused Yahuah Alahim to take drastic measures to punish the willful unrepentant of that era.  We have already established that this punishment of a worldwide flood only targeted mankind of earth and in no way affected either the divine or rebellious (angels) or fictional aliens.  

Another scriptural support for this view is found in Isaiah. Most translations end verse 4 of Genesis chapter 6 with the words “mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”  But Isaiah 14:20 makes a distinct point that evildoers shall never be renowned. So the reference to “the mighty men which were of old” appears to refer to the righteous men before they fell, in lusting after the daughters of men. 

Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because they have destroyed your land, and slain your people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.  Isaiah 14:20

Because of this, and the mere fact that all the Nephilim were destroyed in the flood as punishment, we are left with only one option: the Nephilim were desperately wicked giant tyrants. 

We can then determine that the marriages between these two identified groups, the sons of Alahim and daughters of men, exponentially perpetuated what already existed: sinful, tyrannical, harsh, oppressive giants. As the sons of Alahim began to intermarry with this group, their hearts and minds became incurably evil.

Were there giants living after the flood?

Tyrannical giants (Nephilim) were in the land in those days and also afterwards, therefore, when the Sons of Alahim came into the daughters of [defiled] mankind, they bore children accordingly like the tyrannical giants (gibbor), who perpetuated an incurable and desperately wicked legacy.  Genesis 6:4

A second witness in Numbers 13:32-33 supports this fact that Nephilim lived both before and after the flood. This second narrative tells the story of the twelve Israelite spies who were sent to observe the land and bring back a report. 

In verse 32, it says they observed: “men of great stature” (#H4060 middah).  The very next phrase states in verse 33:

“And there we saw the Nephilim (#5303), the sons of Anak of the Nephilim (#H5303).  And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, as were we in their sight.” Numbers 13:33

The Israelite spies utilized two completely different words for the heathen men. The Hebrew word (#H4060—middah) specifically described their “great stature,” while the Hebrew word (#H5303—Nephilim) may describe the “barbaric and corrupt nature of the giants.” The point here is that if Nephilim alone meant giant, then the term (#H4060—middah) would not have been necessary. 

The mention of the spies feeling like the size of grasshoppers in comparison to the giants was only a figure of speech. In comparison, the Yasharlites (Israelites) were not actually the percentage smaller as grasshoppers are to you and me.  We can know this for certain because of the description of the single grape cluster that the two men carried.  Clearly, the grape cluster was larger than what the Israelites had seen before, but if the cluster were relative to the size of mankind compared to grasshoppers, the twelve Israelite spies would have needed a large wagon to carry a single grape, and the giants would have been 300 feet tall. 

As a young man, David also slew Goliath, a Philistine giant of Gath.

What did Yahuah identify that must be eradicated?

Yahuah [Alahim] beheld that exceedingly great was the wickedness of mankind upon the earth, as every steadfast purpose of the thoughts of their hearts (minds) was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5

The Just and Righteous, Creator of all things, observed the growing evil upon the earth as an incurable, gangrenous limb that must be cut off to preserve a righteous remnant. Here, we have insight into the reality that He has given mankind the freedom to choose obedience to Him, their Creator, or a life of rebellion.  He will never force anyone to love Him, but with that said, there will always be a day of reckoning for that freedom to choose. These sons of men, in their rebellion, had crossed the line of ever seeking reconciliation. While Satan and one-third of the angels were cast out of the heavenly abode of Yahuah Alahim as an eternal consequential punishment, these unrepentant sons of men were soon to receive their terminal sentence and just reward in the rising floodwaters.  

Purpose and Remedy of the Flood

The purpose of the flood was twofold: 1) To destroy sinful flesh, which targeted mankind and NOT fallen angels, demons, or fictional aliens; 2) The flood was a remedy to preserve a righteous people through the Melchizedek Kohenim linage, from which the promised Messiah, Yahusha haMashiach was ordained to come.   

Yahuah Alahim, as the Aleph and Tav, was sorrowful for His creation of mankind upon the earth and grieved within His heart.

Do the Nephilim Exist Today?

So the question remains: Do the Nephilim exist on earth today? According to Genesis 6:4, it appears that Nephilim (tyrannical, cruel, and unforgiving bullies) will always be upon the earth until the Second Coming of Yahusha haMashiach. But will they be physical giants? As we discovered at the beginning of this article, the term Nephilim is a plural term for the singular word nephal, which refers to the fallen character of those who were once men of renown, men in good standing with Yahuah Alahim. 

“Fallen tyrants and bullies were in the earth in those days and also after that, when the sons of Alahim (God) came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, these [fallen] mighty men were previously men of renown.” Genesis 6:4

So do men or women like this exist today who were once faithful and obedient followers of Yahusha haMashiach, who have since fallen from GRACE through the 1) lust of the flesh, 2) lust of the eyes, or 3) the pride of life? Yes!  Since the time of the flood, there has never been a time when such a large portion of the earth has been given over to so much corruption. “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be… And they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:37, 39.

The Ark of Safety

So, with all this said, how does this story apply to your life today? What is the Ark of Safety that has been provided to carry the “sons and daughters of Alahim” through to the other side when this world comes to an end?  How can you find it and how can you enter the door Safety?

The Ark of Safety is found through the merits of the long-promised Messiah alone. We demonstrate our honor to Him, Yahusha haMashiach, by being faithful and obedient to keep His Torah Law and have the Testimony of Yahusha haMashiach, and keep His full New Moon, lunar Sabbath, and prophetic lunar appointed Feast Days, not out of works but because of our gratitude and love for what He has done for us through His merits and grace alone. It is provided for those who seek loving obedience to all the commands given from the beginning that we should walk in. These alone seek to “follow the Lamb whithersoever He goes.” This is all about the Temple not made with hands in the heavenlies and its thematic schedule of lunar TIME & feast day EVENTS unto the PLAN OF SALVATION. These are His prearranged appointments for us to worship and meet with our Creator and Savior. 10. Only eight people were rescued from the flood in Noah’s Ark and all were of the lineage of Seth.
11. It appears there is a dual prophetic application for the 120 years, such as 120 Jubilee revolutions of time was simultaneously given by Yahuah Alahim, identifying a 6,000 year termination of the earth at the Return of His Son, Yahusha haMashiach.
12. The SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF ALAHIM are the trusting and obedient followers of Yahuah Alahim who synchronize their soul temples to that of His lunar time-measuring model. Who SEEK both the father and son with all their hearts. Who joyfully celebrate all His full New Moons, lunar Sabbaths, and specific lunar appointed Feast Day events, with an emphasis on PASSOVER.  For without PASSOVER their would be NO COVERING for our Sins.   
13. It is these alone who will cross over into the Promised Land via Yahuah Alahim’s ark of safety, the long-promised Messiah who laid down His life so that you and I may have this BLESSED HOPE.  HALLELUYAH!!!
